Post can prostatitis/CPPS cause premature ejaculation?
Hi there, I'm a relatively healthy, straight 27 year old male, 5'8" in height, weighing 10 stone. I do not smoke, I drink hardly any alcohol, and I exercise regularly. I'm not someone who can claim to have had numerous relationships with different women, but, among the relationships I have had, these have tended to be quite passionate, intense, and involved a fair amount of sex.

The most recent of these was as far back as 14 months ago (mid-July 2013), when I was in a serious relationship with a girl, and things started to develop pretty quickly. After we had dated for a couple of weeks, the relationship became sexual, initially restricted primarily to blowjobs, handjobs and the usual rubbing/touching of sensitive areas. However, a couple of weeks into the "intercourse" stage of the relationship, which was fairly rigorous (sometimes 5 "rounds" resulting in ejaculation taking place over a 24-hour period), I noticed an increasing pain around the prostate/pelvis area, never during sex, but around 20-40 minutes after ejaculation. I found that although the pain did not occur during the act itself, the fear of experiencing it afterwards had a detrimental impact on my ability to perform with confidence, and I became concerned that I was no longer able to satsify my partner.

We decided to tone down the intercourse for a short time, to see if the pain would subside. It did, but only when we were not engaging in sexual activities. However, I was still sexually stimulated so I found that this temporary abstinence increased my propensity to orgasm, and within minutes of any sexual arousal, I found it hard to control the timing of my ejaculate. To put it simply, from the onset of stimulation to the end, my stamina diminished from about 20 minutes to a pitiful and humiliating 3 or 4.

I sought help from my GP, but by then it was too late - maybe 3 months into the post-ejaculatory pain/premature ejaculation situation - and I was told my condition had become chronic (assuming it was acute to begin with). He performed a digital rectal exam, to check for a sensitive prostate, which he then judged to be applicable in my case (the examination was painful and I felt sore for several minutes afterwards), and prescribed a 4-week course of Ofloxacin antibiotics. These worked - the pain diminished and even when it flared up during this period of time, it was much milder, almost tolerable - but the 4-5 minute stamina issue remained.

Upon completing the course of antibiotics, I noticed, happily, that the prostate/pelvic pain remained at bay for another 3 or 4 weeks. But it slowly returned with increasing discomfort. I also noticed that although my stamina improved slightly, I could no longer take this for granted; I now had to be extra careful not to blow my load all at once, even during blowjobs/handjobs.

This situation has persisted for over a year now, following a general pattern of remitting slightly, then "deciding" to strike back, sometimes with a dull ache in the pelvic area, but at other times a sharper pain lasting for around half an hour when it occurs. What's more, I now notice there are times when my erections are much weaker than before, even when watching porn, and tragically I ejaculate within just 2 or 3 minutes upon watching something very tame to get myself off:

I had my second digital rectal examination two months ago, this time with a urologist, who told me that my prostate felt bigger than the average 27 year old, and that my squirming in agony upon having my perineum lightly stroked indicated an unusual degree of tenderness. Once again, I was prescribed Ofloxacin (brand name "Tarivid") to rule out bacterial prostatitis. I will report back in 2 weeks.

Does anyone else have experience of this issue? Did you find a solution, or at least something to manage the pain? Please, any comments or advice would be much appreciated. I'm afraid for my future.

Thanks again.
