Post Blood in urine help please
Hi everyone
I am new here, 45 yrs old male
For a couple months have experienced frequent urination and urgency.
Two weeks ago after intercourse I experienced pain in right testicle and painful ejaculation. Next day same thing but pains all around groin, hip, buttocks and rectum. Two days later started urinating blood, went to urgent care had exam and found no bacteria in urine. Prescribed doxycycline and I made appointment with urologist. A week later still have a darker brown blood after urination. Went to appointment and had prostate exam and urine once again. Doctor said I have prostatitis, prescribed cipro and sent home. A week later and still having rectal pain and blood after urination and some type of sediment in the blood. Has anyone ever had this and can provide some insight please?

Yes, it isn't a very nice disease, sorry to hear you have it. I think things will improve.

Good luck with the antibiotics.

When I experienced blood in urine with prostatitis, it was excruciating having to urinate. Rocephin helped, my urologist prescribed a couple of days worth of injections. I was also taking Bactrim at the time, I think.

I get rectal pain as well, it's horrible, I was misdiagnosed as having fissures or roids for a long time, turns out it was prostatitis/pelvic pain/bladder obstruction. I've never had blood in urine, you may need a check for stones.

The rectal pain might also be food allergy related. I have been dealing with that. Try to eliminate soy, dairy, wheat, rice, eggs, and nuts for a week or so and see if it clears up. I found that food allergies can aggravate my colon and inflame it, contribute to constipation, and in turn aggravate the prostate.
