Post Could this be Prostatitis I have?
Hello everyone on this forum/community!

First of all, I would like to thank the administrator for creating this website and this forum so it can bring together people with all our similiar problems, looking for guidance/help, advice and whatever is needed in this horrible disease.

Next I would like to talk about myself, and my story. I want to keep it short and brief, so everyone can understand the situation. And I am asking you guys for help, since I know you have a lot of experience and knowledge in this matter.

I want to start clarifying, that I have been to several doctors, I have tried seeking help in the medical care, but as many with this disease they just nodes their head and say i'm healthy and turn me away.

So far the amount of doctors I have visited is: 3

The urology/specialist department where I live is really small/poor, so there's not much more I can do/visit. The queues is really long (waiting time until you see a specialist) and up to between 3-6 months waiting time. (minimum 3 months)
My next appointment will be in: April, 2016.

I have asked them if it could be Prostatitis that I have, since I want to get a proper diagnos of my problem, but they nod their heads and doesn't even know what that is. That's how poor knowledge they have where I live.

So up to the facts that I have done, since I can't get a Prostatitis diagnos from my doctors.

I have been tested for:
Chlamydia - Negative
Gonorrhea - Negative
Mycoplasma - Negative
Ureaplasma - Negative
Unspecified Uretrit - Positive (1st doctor)
I've been asked to get tested for Trichomonias to all my 3 doctors, but they have declined this and said it was not possible to do a test for trichomonias bacteria.
Trichomonias - Unknown (asked to get tested for it, but all doctors have said it's not possible to take test for this)

My symptoms started back in October, 2015. I've had this symptoms now for 5 months, almost 6 months. It started appearing after having unprotected vaginal sex with a girl, of Asian (Thailand) origin.

My symptoms are as followed:
- Constant pain while I'm awake (doesn't come and go)
- Pain on my penis glans
- Pain on top of penis glans, near the urethra
- Red, irritated, burning/sharp pain on the penis glans (also near urethra)
- Pain during masturbating (penis glans pain)
- Pain after ejaculation (also on glans)
- Discomfort when urinating
- Hard time to empty my bladder or have a strong pee
- If I pull down my foreskin on the glans after I pee:d, it keeps coming more pee (just drops) and I may have to repeat this process several times (10-15 times) and wipe it off with paper before it stops coming more pee from the urethra.
- Pain inside my urethra (right near the tip of the glans)
- Pain in my testicles (both testicles - like extreme pain)
- After erection/ejaculation, my penis glans can be severely irritated/red (visible), and the skin on penis glans can begin to crack (extremely painful) and even skin on the glans is able to "pull off" from it. (bleeding on glans afterwards)
- Sometimes pain in my abdomen, that come and go, like a knife stabs you at the spot where I get the pain.

The pain level of my penis glans/urethra/testicles of a level 1 to 10, would be over 10. (between 12-15), Yes' it's more then bareable/standable. I can't walk or stand up for more then 20 minutes before I have to sit down. When I do sit down I have to constantly move my legs (either up and down or shake them left to right to distract the pain) and when I lay down I have to crawl into a foster position (baby) to reduce the pain. (even when i'm going to sleep)

The best way to describe the pain in my testicles, would be like having small tiny glass splitters inside them cutting, with a occassional mix of a chilling/freezing feeling, aswell as feeling similiar to my penis glans/urethra, but add in like they poured acid on it/inside it aswell.

These are a few symptoms that I Do Not experience (that I read is typical for Prostatitis):
- Feeling a urge to urinate often
- Wake up during nights just to go to pee (however I do wake up frequently and get little sleep because of the pain I wake up too)
- Any pain in my prostate (but this could be hard to tell, due to the heavy pain I feel mentioned above)
- Pain after urinating

My First Doctor Visit:
Located and gave me Positive for Unspecified Uretrit.

My Second Doctor Visit:
Tested me, in additional to the STDs I mentioned above, this doctor also did a test that showed Positive for Enterrococcus Faecalis and Candida Fungus.
He performed 2 type of tests on me, a urine test that showed all Negative (from the STDs), and then he did an other test where he inserted his finger in my rectum touching my prostate, than afterward took a little small instrument on my urethra and that test showed positive for Enterococcus Faecalis and Candida.

My Third Doctor Visit:
Didn't take me serious and said it was all imaginary in my head, and sent me home again shortly after.

Note: This was three different doctors.

What medicines I have taken:
- Doxycycline (Got after my first doctor visit) - 10 days
- Amoxicillin (Got after my second doctor visit) - 10 days
- Metronidazole - 7 days
- Fluconazole (pills)
- Clotrimazole (cream)
- Miconazole + hydrocortisone (cream)
- Econazole (cream)
- Drinking Cranberry Juice (While this isn't a medicine, I read it was good for UTI and Prostatitis) But this havn't helped me / made any difference to my symptoms.

None of the above have cured me, or got rid of my symptoms.

All the creams applied just made it even worse, and even more painful. The Fluconazole pills does nothing.
I didn't notice any different while taking Metronidazole.
Doxycycline may have improved the symptoms a tiny bit, by 5-10%, but quickly went back to ordinary pain after the end of course.
Amoxicillin may have improved the symptoms a tiny bit, by 5-10%, but quickly also went back to ordinary pain after the end of course.
(or even worse, which is hard to tell because the pain have escalated from October up to today)
In beginning October I only felt the pain on my penis glans.
In November, I started feeling pain inside my urethra.
In December, the pain in testicles begin.
In January, the testicles and penis pain got worse.
In February (now) the pain is even worse and more severe then in January.

I took Doxycycline in December, Amoxicillin in January, and Metronidazole in February (beginning).
The cream oitments I have tried between a period of December-February. The Fluconazole pill between end of December - February.

I will add a explanation picture of the penis glans (not mine but taken from Google) from a healthy looking penis glans. (pink/purple color)
And draw red markings/areas where my pain /inflammation/infection/irritation/red is.

Since all my 3 visits to different doctors, they told me I can safely have sex (yes unprotected sex!) and that I am not carrying any sexual transmitted disease.
Obviously I can't have sex because of my pain even if I wanted to.
I have avoided any sexual contact with a partner for the months I've been carrying/had this. (I am heterosexual male)

My questions I wanna know is...

Q: Could this be prostatitis?

Q: Could prostatitis cause symptoms of what I explained with my penis glans?

Also share other inputs/thoughts of my condition, if you have. I will read everything you say.
Will add this to bookmark aswell so I can follow it up and let you guys know how I progress.

"Prostatitis" is a waste basket diagnostic. It doesn't mean much. There are many patients with the label "prostatitis" that have totally different symptoms and respond to (or don't respond to) totally different remedies.

Read other threads and keep learning and looking for answers.

I also feel that zones of the gland burning and sometimes even I feel pain when I touch it (for example, cleaning my glans). Specially the one next to the foreskin. I wonder if that is related to the prostatitis.

Sometimes there are red zones like in the photo, but not so exaggerated. The thing that happens to my glans more often which concerns me a lot is the cracking on the skin, has yours that? (Something like this http://prostatitis.org/redirect.php?lin ... zUhv5S.jpg ). I think some acidic thing is burning it a little. Maybe the infection in the prostate goes through the fluids to the glans and affect it.

Yes it does looks very similar to mine. I think I mentioned it in my first post.

But also have the red patches/area where it's more irritated/red on top of the cracking that I positioned in the picture I drawed.

WS1234, I think things started after having sex with this woman.

I read that Balanitis (inflamed Glans) can be triggered if you are having testicle pain. (which Prostatitis causes)

So by eliminating the testicle pain (Prostatitis) I think that the glans would begin to start look normal again.

Are any of you on any medication right now?

Have you noticed if any pain killers have ever helped on this condition? Morphine even?

Is there any remedy/lotion/cream that helps your cracking skin on your penis glans?

I forgot where, but it was in a Prostatitis related topic that I read http://www.man1health.com/ was effective for those who had Prostatitis. Have anyone tried this oil?

Have you tried any anti inflammatories like naproxen? i.e. NSAIDs. It seems like you have bad inflammation that is rampantly out of control caused by some kind of pathogen.

I expect it will die down over time. Mine did, although that was just prostate inflammation. It took about a year for me, but finally it seems life is more bearable.

I havn't tried any NSAID, nor have my doctors suggested/prescribed me any NSAID.

Is Naproxen a prescription drug or can be bought by anyone?

Is there any side-effects by taking Niproxen?

You can get it OTC in some countries. Most urologists recommend that. Yes long term there will be side effects. For a year wud prob be ok if your young especially.

How about sex?

Are bacterial prostatitis allowed to have sex?
Is it transmittable?

I mean those people who have had prostatitis (bacterial) for 1-10 years, they can't have sex during this time, even if it last all life? Or they can?

Is it a transmittable disease or not? Should I be worried that my partner can get infected (even if she can't get Prostatitis) or it's stays within me?

For medical advice I generally wouldn't recommend the Internet. There are a few more trustworthy websites where you can get the answers you seek, type 'is bacterial prostatitis contagious' into Google, first hit maybe. Also consider NSAIDs, or asking your GP about them, they could help ease the pain for a while. Good luck to you, I hope your suffering ends soon.

I have googled if it is contagius, however I got many different answers to this question. Some say it is, some say it isn't.

My doctor have told me that Prostatitis can't be diagnosed, however he would say by 70%+ by my symptoms that I have it.

He also told me Prostatitis is uncureable, which is wrong (if you read on the internet, there are several websites and stories say they cured prostatitis).

I guess I'm back to my self-medication again and trying to cure this myself. Since my doctor says there is no cure and disbanded me.

Don't believe him, there are cures. Prostatitis can be caused by numerous different things. You have to systematically eliminate each of the potential causes to find a cure. SIBO, Levator Ani syndrome, bacterial infection, pelvic alignment, lack of circulation, sitting to much for too long, vitamin and mineral malabsorption, and gut dysbiosis are usually the causes.

Post Re: Could this be Prostatitis I have?
I found this interesting topic, about a guy who I read had similiar symptoms as mine:
http://prostatitis.org/redirect.php?lin ... how/612934

I do know that the condition I have with the red/irritated glans is called "Balanitis", and I do know that Balanitis can be caused by several different factors, including fungal, bacteria (chlamydia, gonorrhea) and even an infection in your prostate/testicles.

Mine started aswell with the inflammed glans, and spread to the testicles (where most of the pain is also the glans), and since I am not having any problem urinating, could this be Epididymitis I have? (and Balanitis) -- which is obviously caused by the same thing.

Also I don't seem to get worse after eating spicy foods. (no difference)

Also it says the treatment is 4-6 weeks for Epididymitis, and I only tested the antibiotics I took for 1 week, where I felt slightly better, but quickly went back for the worse after the end of the medication.

This might be a long shot, but have anyone here tried any of these medicines?
- Nitrofurantoin
- Ciprofloxacin
- Levofloxacin
- Ofloxacin

And if yes, how was the results on you?

How was it when you took them?

Any slight (minimal) improvement?

How long did you take them for?

Did you notice any side effects?

I was on a rotation of ABs for roughly 3 months and I never noticed any improvement all

-Flagyl
-Levaqin
-Doxy
-Minocycline
-a few others that escape me at the moment.

Reading about the Levaquin on internet and all the scary stories makes me scared even to test them.

I have been taking NSAID Naproxen now for 3 days, and have noticed no difference. Pain is still the same. It doesn't even reduce the pain...

Levaquin gave me very minor tendinitis in my ankles but did not experience any major side effects with any of the ABs is was on. This definitely varies from person-to-person

Yeah well it is worth a try, at least you can rule out NSAIDs. It normally works in 24 to 48 hours. I guess you'll just have to wait it out, your not alone I've got some weird painful disease from my travels in India, I've been waiting a year so far......!

Yeah but it's not normal to have bacteria or fungus in my urine... Can't wait that out to go away, it needs to be treated.

And the doctor have found bacteria and fungus in my urethritis.
