Ostheopatic treatment for chronic prostatitis/pelvic pain
Hi everybody,
I suffered from chronic prostatitis for over a year and a half. After seeing several specialists I started searching PubMed for possible answers and found some studies according to which ostheopathy could help relax pelvic muscles and thus cure some forms of chronic prostatitis/pelvic pain. I went to see an osteopath in my hometown and I started therapy. After just 5-6 sessions the pain started to gradually fade, and in the space of a couple of months I was able to enjoy sex again (which I had not been able to do since the problem had begun).
I must add that I have also bought a special cushion for prostatitis (a ring-shaped cushion made of foam rubber, specifically made for prostatitis sufferers). This may have helped too (it feels much better to sit on this cushion compared to sitting on any other type of seat/cushion I have tried before). I have a very sedentary lifestyle due to my job. A urologist had told me this kind of problem might be due to a sedentary lifestyle.
I have been symptoms-free for about two months now.
