Post Manageable Prostatitis?
Hi Guys

Earlier this year I got a UTI from using a catheter which then developed into Prostatitis.

I had the following symptoms:

Burning on urination
Smelly urine
Very very poor flow, dribbling
Frequent urination
Pain at the tip of the penis (so bad I had suicidal thoughts)

After 8 months of continuous antibiotics (I tried all of them) I finally stopped taking any more antibiotics for the last 4 weeks. Now I'm off them, I was expecting all the old symptoms to come back. However, they have not. What I do now have is:

Uncomfortable urination (it feels like a soreness, not a burning)
Discomfort at the tip of the penis (it's not pain, I can deal with it)
Poor flow (but it's not dribbling all over the place)

This is strange to me, because I was expecting the infection to get worse and spread but this time it's just staying constant, and I can deal with this but it's not ideal.

Is anyone else experiencing prostatitis in this manageable way? I don't understand why the symptoms are better, but have not gone away. Is it going to get better from here or just stay like this?

Simon, more than likely it will get better. That isn’t to say it won’t return because many men have prostate issues off and on, but it could go away and stay quiet for a long time. No way to know. Many people here manage this condition but since none of us know if our cause is your cause you’ll have to read and ask specific questions. Then you can work out a plan to deal with your symptoms.

I agree

I recommend you spend lots of money getting pelvic pain treatment
At first it will help some because of the placebo effect
Honestly I can’t imagine why any medical student would want
To specialize in urology

They can cure .... unless it’s cancer and they remove everything

my urologist told me to go to the marijuana store after all his meds made me worse
