Post Newbie here, looking for help!
My story, perhaps similar to others, but here goes: 41 years old, made the mistake of going to an Asian massage parlor 11 weeks ago. I didn't expect oral sex, but received it for approximately 2 minutes at the absolute most. I certainly have overwhelming guilt over the situation, mainly because of my family situation at home. I've tested negative for all STI's, multiple times. However, I have had some penis discomfort, as well as a burning sensation in the perineum, anus, tailbone, and inner thighs. I have not had any discharge or painful urination.

Now 11 weeks later, I have a painful prostate. It feels like a golf ball has been inserted into my arse. The burning elsewhere has pretty much subsided though, although I do get intermittent penis pain and the feeling that something just feels off. I've consulted with onine STI doctors, each of which say there is no sign of any problem. I have been mainly concerned about NGU since everything else has been proven negative. They suggested reading up on CPPS, which does seem to fit a fair amount of my symptoms. I visited my GP, and he said my urine was clean and he didn't think there was a problem. I went to a urologist, and the first time he told me it was all in my head. Went back to him yesterday, describing in more detail the symptoms of the prostate/pelvic area and he gave me an exam. He said the prostate does not feel abnormal, but from what I describe, it sounds like symptoms of prostatitis. He gave me 30 days of Cipro. I took one dose of Cipro and was out of my mind, nearly hallucinating. I did take it on an empty stomach though, but holy hell, it spaced me out, gave me anxiety, and I swore I wouldn't take another one again.

So now I'm here. I've read the the overwhelming majority of prostatitis is non-bacterial, yet the docs still prescribe meds. If I can't tolerate the Cipro, I don't see it as being worth the risk. Is there another med that I should consider? I've been told that I likely have a prostate problem that coincided with my regrettable massage experience. I think that's pure BS. He also said there is no lilnk between oral sex and prostatitis. I assume that to mean there just isn't any literature out there on studies done.

Finally, I wonder if prostatitis comes in waves? The burning sensations have now been replaced with the prostate pain. I wonder if it has different phases and maybe I just need to tough it out and it will pass on it's own? My stress level has been a 10/10, including vomiting because of nerves. I'd like to hope that prostatitis can indeed incur because of a neurological component, and not from some germ in saliva. I'm at a loss, and I don't know where else to turn......

Try reading up on some of the available threads. BJ and prostatitis is a common thing here, many of us have gotten it that exact same way. STDs and other infections can be passed via oral sex, that information is all over the national institute of health. Many of these doctors were trained 15-20 years ago and never continued reviewing the latest research. You may need to go the Microgen Labs route for PCR testing like some of the others guys here.

I would first like to say I am not saying it is in your head of what you are feeling is not real, because it is.

I will come at this from a slightly different position and ask what your lifestyle is like just so everyone can get the most information and help give advice from all points of view.

Are you active? and if so how many time a week do you exercise and what kind of exercise
What job do you do? does this contribute to a sedentary life style
Do you suffer a lot of stress?
What is your diet like?
Are you overweight?
Any other lifestyle related points you would like to make?

One of many explanations is that your not actually feeling your prostate and it is simply that your are physically weak which causes tight muscles and the pain and sensations your feeling. Stress can cause excess cortisol which can cause further weakness, sometimes we dont realise we have gotten into the position were in because it happens over a long period of time and we can function like climb stairs etc but the reality is we are and it only becomes evident when you try to lift a barbell etc.

If you dont have any medical issues and you have time to burn I would suggest trying a barbell training program like starting strength linear progression, or the bridge by barbell medicine and give it three months and see what happens when you get strong.

If it is a medical problem you should seek help from professionals and the members here who have a lot of advice and experience to give :)

Thanks for the feedback guys!

My profession does lead to a bit of sedentary lifestyle, and I do not often workout. However, I am a healthy 41yr old ex-athlete with no other issues at all. The timing of the issue 100% coincides with the BJ experience, albeit a very short one, less than 2 minutes. But again, the level of regret, stress, anxiety and guilt I have felt is unprecedented. When I read about CPPS, and its ability to begin from a psychological cause, I was becoming reassured that was definitely my issue. But there were times when I wasn't feeling overly stressed, and the pain would come back. Perhaps I give the body too much credit in its ability to just feel better while matching my mood.

For the past 2 days, it has felt like a golf ball was lodged in my rear. But today, it's gone. The burning in my perineum and other areas hasn't come back in about a week. The discomfort in my penis comes and goes, and an online specialist told me it can't possibly be NGU if it is intermittent, and causing other areas of discomfort like the prostate can. I'm just at a loss. My rational side tells me that if it's intermittent, believe the stress causation and do your best to move on. My hypochondriac side tells me there must be some sort of bug causing this and I'm doomed for a long while, as is my spouse. I don't know, it's just a tough thing to deal with so far.

One other comment I feel is worth consideration....It may seem like a lot of people have obtained prostatiits from oral sex in this forum. But if you look at a law of averages, there are millions upon millions of oral sex events that take place and if this was an epidemic, there would be floods of people on here and other places with the same problem. Although I am convinced that my symptoms are not a coincidence. It's just whether or not they are anxiety related or actually a bacteria issue.

Update as of now, my prostate feels fine. My urethra feels "full" for lack of a better word like it would benefit from something coming out of it, perhaps like an orgasm. But still, no discharge at all, 11 weeks post event. I am sick of thinking about this....

You have a reasonable approach to the problems you're experiencing, I think. Yet, there is a question I have about your oral sex experience. Did you or did you not get involved in touching the masseuse? It doesn't have to be you touched her vagina or even grabbed her butt. These bacteria that are often said to be the culprits of prostatitis are also said to be common causes of skin infections. I think you're right that it is partly a psychological, causative problem(s). It may not be your guilt though. Rather, I would suggest that you are grappling with a different psychological and emotional problem(s) mostly or completely unrelated to the massage parlor event. I too have had prostatitis / CPPS, for several years, and I first experienced symptoms and discomfort long after a sexual encounter with a woman. Actually, I developed hemorrhoids and bowel problems before the CPPS / CP problems, which continued when the others started. It pains me a bit in the mind to bring this up. It's not to confuse or mislead you. This is a mysterious illness / condition. The potential for guessing becomes overwhelming, even with more information from various sources. So that's reason to be like a scientist and hypothesize away. It's so simple to enter a path of solving, thoroughly check things over, and get applicable help. When/If it doesn't work, choose a different path to get to the solution. Do you think that influences the mind to a point of health-damaging stress and anxiety with such a horrible condition? I think so. It's like being a rat in a maze, getting to the cheese after x number of fails.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. You are absolutely correct, the challenge of searching and searching for a solution that will likely not come is maddening. I’m really trying to get a grip on my situation. I did not touch the masseuse in any way actually. It was such a brief experience, and just kind of happened against what I thought would. I was only going there for a HJ, and I immediately felt terrible when the short BJ happened, so much so that I left early. My anxiety and guilt are a 12/10 as I have major things going on in my life right now that could be impacted by this. I was in the middle of selling my home when this happened, and buying a new one with my fiancé. We are still in the middle of the waiting period to move into our new forever home. Each day I wake up I have a jolt of anxiety go right through my body. I check my genitals many, many times a day. I inspect every pee I do. I’ve shined a light inside my urethra a thousand times. If that doesn’t sound like someone with major regret, I don’t know what would. So I am hoping my symptoms are stress related and they will pass. It’s just entirely too coincidental. It has never burned when I pee nor have I ever had any discharge or underwear stains. I’m also at 11 weeks past exposure, which is long.

I tested negative for all std’s. I took 3 urinalysis in doctors office and all were clear. I was assuming if I had NGU that it would show up. I don’t know if prostate infections would show up there. My symptoms are INTERMITTENT which I hope to be a sign that the pain follows my thinking pattern. I am obsessed with it as I don’t want to lose my family. The only positive is that I’m told NGU from oral sex nor prostatitis can be passed on sexually to my partner. That’s all I’m hanging my hat on now.

As for CPPS, my symptoms started 2.5 weeks after exposure. I had a burning sensation in the perineum, anus, and through the penis. It would come and go. Now that has pretty much subsided but it feels like the prostate itself is sore. It’s almost like it’s gone in phases. It’s really weird. My urologist thinks I’m nuts.
