Post How do I get a doctor to take me seriously?
Headache in the pelvis or a normal headache. Describing a doctor my symptoms makes him stop listening. Asking for what he needs to hear leads to him saying: "just tell me your symptoms".
I used to think that I don't get an mri because as doctors said, it wasn't necessary. It turns out that they don't do it because it costs money - a fraction of what I pay to my health insurance per month, by the way.
How do I get real information that actually helps me - like "Well, because you are in public health care, you are fine. If you were in private health care, we could help you get better". So I knew that paying myself would help.

Most people on this forum who have 'cured' the acute stubborn stage of this disease, myself included, have done so at great expense. We travel to see specialists. We take time from our lives, we pay for extended hotel stays and, then we undergo treatments for cash. And if you're lucky, as I was, you will find the cure.

I didn't get any respect from certain local Dr's, also. It comes with the 'incurable' reputation of the disease. Now, when I drive past those Dr.s offices, I wish I could go in and tell those dummies what they missed, and what cured me when they could not.

You should do that.

BTW: What was it likely that cured you?

I received Intraprostatic Injections after 2+ years of suffering with oral antibiotics. I developed bacterial prostatitis days after receiving unprotected oral sex from a Central American prostitute. She warned me that she had a sore throat. I didn't think anything of it at the time. The prostate injections cured me of the infection, bladder spasms, chills and pain. However, the road back to normalcy doesn't end after the injections. It took 2-3 years after the injections before my prostate was back to 'normal', mostly as it had before this terrible disease started. Normal ejaculations, etc. etc.

The most important step is curing the infection. For me, the disease was like having strep throat in my prostate for 2+ years. My local Dr's were useless. Some of them were worse than that.
