Post Prostatitis and Jaw Pain (TMJ DYSFUCNTION)
I've been suffering from Prostatitis for 2 years now.

From the last month , I've started getting ear and jaw pain. GP suspects it is TMJ dysfucntion and I'm due to see the specialist in the next 10 days.

I naturally started reading up about this dysfunction and could not believe my luck. Most of the material online suggests this is not treatable , as the cause it is unknown. Most people end up having to manage it. NHs website says it will go away eventually one day but they say the same thing about Prostatitis. As we know , only if you are very lucky it will go away.

Anyways , I just can't believe my luck. It's bad enough to have Prostatitis but to add this new condition on top is just a curse. It hurts my jaw and ears when I chew and my face feels tired.
Hopefully, the consultant can do something for my jaw but feels like dejavu with the Prostatitis.

Does anyone else have Jaw Pain? I don't think this is connected to the Prostatitis.

Makes alot of sense. TMJ is a stress/tension disorder alot of the time. Either stress from the prostatitis is causing new problem. Or, more likely, the stress/tension is causing both problems.

I have both Prostatitis and TMJ. My Chronic prostatitis is in remission, I been managing my symptoms effectively for the past 8 months with no flare up, thank God. Mine is bacterial cause and currently between 95-98% symptom free. I have an occasional TMJ which started 2 months after I was diagnosed with prostatitis. I'm not sure if it is due to the distress that I had in dealing my situation or the side effects of the ciprofloxacin or both. Whenever I have a TMJ attack, I rub a mixture of essential oils (coconut, lavender and peppermint) on my neck and jaw. This happens occasionally. Don't lost your hope, there are ways to manage it.

Thanks. Glad to hear you are not letting either condition get the better of you.

What are your TMJ symptons? Have you seen a specialist regarding treatment for this?

My TMJ symptoms are mainly pain in the Jaw and face muscles. I went to a chiro and he did a jaw, face and neck massage. He taught me some exercises for jaw, neck and face but what helped me a lot are the essential oils. TMJ is not something that I concern, my priority of treatment is chronic prostatitis which is more bothersome. Thank God my CP right now is finally manageable due to an extremely strict diet modification. :-)

Yes, they are related.

Have a look at the Anatomy Trains lines of fascia, specifically the deep front line. Pelvic floor, diaphragm and TMJ all connected.
