Post Impotence
Hello. I am 32 years old and back in 2006 I was told that I have chronic non bacterial prostatitis. However, I think I may have had it longer. My main concern is impotence. Has anybody else here suffered from it? Were you able to get back your erections? I tried viagra but it didn't seem to help much and it's very expensive. Thanks.

Post Re: Impotence
RiseAbove, I am also borderline impotent. The mechanism down there is still fine, there's nothing structurally wrong, but I have almost ZERO sex drive! This happened overnight when I caught thrush/balanitis from a female sexual partner and the infection spread into my prostate. Even thought the symptoms have eased over the past 22 years to the point where I am barely aware of them, there's still something that just doesn't quite feel right with my prostate and the sex drive has never since returned.

It's weird though how my libido went from very high to virtually nothing within barely 24 hours. I've never figured this out but it would be an amazing coincidence if it just happened to go at precisely the time I caught an STD that infected my prostate. I don't believe in such coincidences. Also, I've heard of many other cases where prostate problems affect your libido - sometimes wiping it out completely! Amongst the many things I've tried has been Viagra, like yourself, but to no avail because it doesn't work on your sex drive and will only enable you to get an erection when aroused (for which you need a sex drive in the first place!)

I've had my testosterone level checked and there's no problem on that score; in fact, I was told it's 'well above average' for someone of my age. So I don't know how all of this works but I can sense that there's a link between my prostate and my sexual functioning and until the former is sorted out the latter will remain problematic.
