Post Possibly diagnosed
I am 40 years old and a little on the heavy side. For the past two months I noticed that things weren't working right sexually. It seemed to be a little more difficult to get an erection except if i was sitting on the couch or something. I have also noticed that I have been really tired and depressed drive diminished. I noticed too that when I would urinate it would be a weak stream or it would take a second or two for it to come out. The thing is is that it wasn't all the time, maybe 10-15% of the time. I didn't have any pain or discomfort when I urinated and there was no urgency or had trouble emptying my bladder.

Sexually like I said, it seemed to be affected. Not as easy to get an erection and I would get a slight sharp pain in the tip of my penis when I ejaculated. I recently starting seeing someone new and the first two times I was with her I ejaculated without even being erect. Now that happened to me once before about 10 years ago and I attributed it to just being really turned on. Now from what i'm reading, this could be a result of prostatitis. Has anybody heard of this? Its causing me a bit of anxiety when i'm with her for obvious reasons. A few weeks ago i saw my regular doctor and I told him the issues I was having an he seemed to think it was maybe mental and he gave me cialis. I took the cialis and it had no effect. Its like my mind wanted it but my body was saying no. I started to do my own research on this and came to the conclusion that it was not mental but physical.

I made an appointment with urologist and he examined my penis and testicles and prostate. Examining the penis and testicles didn't cause me any discomfort. When he examined my prostate he said it was not enlarged but soft. When its soft it means its inflamed he said. He gave me 30 day prescription of cipro and a urine test. I have taken them for just over 3 days now and noticed that my testicles ached a little after ejaculation now. I'll get the results from urine test in a few days so i'm anxious to see if its bacteria or not.

Has anybody else had sexual dysfunction like I described? Where its not getting as hard as it usually does. Loss of sex drive? Ejaculating without being erect? This is obviously concerning to me as I am starting a new relationship with someone who really likes sex. Doc never said to avoid certain foods etc so I'm wondering what else I can do to help.

Hi,in response to your concern as someone who has had prostatitis for 4 years what you described as your symptoms bareing anything seriously wrong and just by what you said seems you have some degree of there is nothing wrong with your mind and you know what your body is feeling.I have had and still have a weak stream when i urinate and many times not able top get and keep an erection as when the prostate is inflamed/swollen those are signs of prostatitis. Many doctors because there is no cure will treat the symptoms with either cipro, anti depressants and anti inflamatory drugs and in your case giving you cialis because your sex life is not what you want it to be to feel more fullfilled.Remember putting drugs in your body just to make you feel better mentally and to show there is something being done to help can also have an advers effect as it's like talking a pain pill or aspirin when you have no pain. The cialis like viagra rushes blood to your penis and going against the body's natuarl way of doing things and from men who i know who have taken those i just mentioned you only get an erection and there is no feeling of pleasuse,so if your just into the act that would work but not if you expect having a great orgasm. For me i have to say and not easy for someone who had been very sexually active for years i am not going to put harmful drugs in my body to get an erection.

Hope you feel better.
