Post Potential New Members Please Read
We have been under a huge attack by spammers lately. I've accidentally allowed one to make a post but I removed him and his post. I hand check every new member and their IP lately. I know that when I am getting 20 to 40 new member applications every day that the huge majority of them are spammers. This is the only board I run that attracts an international audience which leaves us open to some mean people that we would normally block. It seems that some people can't stand to have a forum that is quiet and fairly polite without them wanting to porn spam (or upload viruses) to everything.

One thing that is a quick give away is your email address. If your email is jbnvsalkdjflawekhflr@yahoo, chances are pretty good you will be banned by IP without further investigation. If your 'whois' info isn't clean... and I check it every time... chances are good you will be banned. I realize that I may occasionally hit innocent people. If I do, go to the parent page of this forum and send an email giving your user name and date you applied and I'll fix it.

I do the best I can here but we had a huge DoS (Denial of Service) attack on one of my other servers on a different board. They succeeded in staggering the server but they didn't take it down. Four hours later, we had banned huge ranges of IP's and cleaned everything else up. Taking a chance because you can't find a normal user name (a big tip off!) You would be amazed at some of the user names I see. sofiaqq1 and BellePiacitelli8934917 being some of the ones I whacked today. It is not worth the possible problems to take a chance on someone using both a goofy user name and email and from an IP that usually means trouble.

One more time, if I ban your IP and you are legit, email the parent page of this site. The parent page and the forum are on two different servers for a reason. Thanks for your understanding!
