Post Anybody try Cardura
Recent visit to ilya, he checked and said my prostate feels much improved...still have urethra swell after sex. My penis has a dark bluish colour around head which he thought looked normal (not for me it isnt)..penis head tendor after ejaculation and red.
He said not enough signs to warrant further antibiotics...did rx me cardura which is an alpha blocker. I dont knlw much about it...anybody try it?
Also gave me supplement for candida to try...
I have a urethrscopic procedure with other urologist. He said he wants to see results of that before i come back so could be a few months.
I would say im about 40 percent better since seeing ilya.....but who knows if thats from the drugs, time or if it will worsen.

Tamsulosin provided me some relief, however it caused restrictive breathing for me. It wouldn't have been noticeable if I lived a sedentary lifestyle, but I'm very active and it really started to cut into my workouts. Plus I was sick of taking meds all this time.

.5 mg per day of doxazosin works well for me, with no side effects. It can lower your BP a little bit, but probably not much at that dose.

I've been using alfuzosin. It works ok. When my symptoms were really bad I was on two at the same time. Worked very well. It was alfuzosin and another. Can't remember which one though. I think combination might be the best bet. It was for me anyway.

I couldn't use alfuzosin (Uroxatral), it gave me restrictive breathing. Felt like I was getting bronchitis or something when I was on that. Wondering if I'm allergic to it. Flomax and Doxazosin seem to work better for me. Flomax makes me sleepy, and lowers my BP, I get dizzy when standing up from sitting. No sides with Doxa. Might be because I'm only taking half a mg though.

For me flomax produced a slight improvement in just a day or two.

Alpha blockers always worked pretty quick for me, usually within 5 hours or so. If it's not working, you might not be taking enough. My doc said 1mg of Doxazosin was the lowest dosage. I took that a step further and cut 1mg tablets in half and take those. I'm tired of side effects and pills, .5mg doesn't seem to bother me, it might not be enough for others though.

FF, I've been using alpha blocker (Alfuzosin) on and off. I was off for 3 months without any issue but recently I had some bladder discomfort due to taking too much of acidic foods like berries and apple cider vinegar so I'm back to taking it again but may stop anytime soon. What it does is it relaxes the prostate and bladder neck for easy urination. Cardura must have the same effect. It does take effect right away within 12 hours in my experience.
