Post My Diary - Pelvic discomfort/pain after sex/bike accident
I've decided my next step is to see a Osteopath after reading the success story of some members on here, I live in the south of UK, Portsmouth, plenty of Osteopaths around here but I need a really good one, most of them don't have reviews, not sure how to pick one, are they all the same ? does it really matter who I see ? should I see a male osteopath as he might understand this more ? any help or tips would be great

I would email a bunch of them to outline your situation directly and ask if they have had experience and SUCCESS in dealing with anyone they have treated with similar symptoms...and then take it from there.

ok I saw a local Osteopath today, he said I have a slightly misaligned unstable compressed pelvis, I am not sure what to think of him, it felt like he didn't do much, and he told me not to do any pelvic stretches, which is annoying as after reading heal pelvic pain book I thought I needed to do stretches,he wants me to wear a tight belt around my pelvis 8 hours a day, I think I will get a second opinion from a chiropractor I will see on Wednesday.

I went on a train journey to London today to buy some Barefoot Minimalist shoes, as recommended in this great blog http://prostatitis.org/redirect.php?lin ... r.html?m=1

they are quite expensive, I paid £90 for mine, but they feel really comfy and great, they are great for your posture, your joints, good for your pelvis, so its worth it if its gonna help me get better

tomorrow I will practise some of the recommended stretches and self massages, might buy a firm foam roller and some other things too
will see chiropractor on Wednesday.

Set Back

I done some stretches before I started work, the lie down pelvic floor stretch and hip rotator stretch, then later the urine frequency, pain when urinating and the general discomfort in my pubic region came back

not sure what to do now with the stretches, maybe I'll focus more on strength training, cardio and massage instead of stretches.

Good News

yesterday started off terrible, horrible discomfort/irritation in the pubic area with frequent urination, I was back to depression again, I went to see a Chiropractor and told him my issue, he felt my pubic area and said it was really tight, when I asked about pelvic floor dysfunction he said that's what I've got, he then told me that the bicycle fall I had in December 2015 was the cause, messed up my pelvis,

then he done a couple of different adjustments, he said that he thinks my pubis bone is also out of place, something the other chiropractor I saw never thought of, later that day I felt an improvement, less discomfort in the pubic area, then today I felt good, not cured but such a better improvement, then throughout the day the discomfort crept back a little bit but not too much (probably because my job is physical), still better than I was yesterday though.

I will see him again in 2 weeks, he said he will give me some exercises to do, this is still no quick fix I'm sure, but it looks like I'm getting somewhere and hopefully I'll get more improvements with each visit with him.

Have you done any sort of internal stretching/PT yet?

internal as in in my rectum ? no I haven't yet, not sure how to do it or if its necessary.

the normal kind of stretches I've tried some but I get flare ups

my Prosatitis or Pelvic Floor Disorder is from pelvic misalignment and trauma because of the bike accident I had back in December 2015, at least that's what it seems like now, so not sure if internal stretching is a good idea, the chiropractor said he will give me exercises to do next time I see him.

I haven't tried PT yet, not worth it yet as if I have spinal and pelvic misalignments then a chiropractor is more suited for me.

I believe you have a pudendal nerve entrapment due to the fall accident. I have suffered with pelvic pain, urine urgency, pain in buttock, sexual dysfunction due to injury from heavy lifting for almost 30 years. I was given endless antibiotics by my urologist. I started seeing physical therapist about a year ago. The best stretch that gave me relief is happy baby pause. I can feel the immediate relief even from bladder pain. Other simple medications that helped were aka-selzter type medications since the sodium citrate that alkalize my urine. P relief will also help. But, ultimately what helped is finding the right stretch to relax your pelvic muscle and the stretches that can release the entrapped nerve. Some have chosen to release the entrapped nerve through surgery, but success story is limited since pudendal nerve branches are difficult to pinpoint and the nerves are random. For now I do the happy baby pose three time a day and I am able to sleep through the night without waking to urinate. I used to wake up three times nightly. You can also use cushion seat that are cut out from the center to reduce pressure on the pudendal nerve. I hope you get better.

I don't wake up during the night to pee 3 times, maybe just 1 time or none, I have been told by my chiropractor that I have a unstable misaligned pelvis, which also effects the sacrum.

I'm sure my pudendal nerves are involved in my discomfort, as my muscles in my pelvis, my pelvic floor muscles are tight, but I don't know for sure.

My chiropractor has told me not to do stretches yet, its not the right time yet as my pelvis still is unstable, he will give me some exercises to do but I don't know when.

Post Re: My Diary - Pelvic discomfort/pain after sex/bike acciden
has been a mixed couple of weeks, so I thought the chiropractor was on to something and I felt good, then a couple of days later I got a flare up (discomfort, soreness) in pubic area and got angry at life and done some 'sexual activity' (not masturbation) out of frustration, I also have a porn addiction so I normally turn to porn when I'm feeling low, and I got a even worse flare up, soreness deep in genital area, urethra irritation.

I was very depressed at this point, I cried at work for the first time since I got this health issue, and have been having suicidal thoughts a lot, eventually the urethra irritation went away, I saw the chiropractor and he adjusted my pubis again last week and this weekend I felt the best I felt since this all happened and felt happiness, no discomfort, just the tight muscles I could feel in my pelvic area, but sadly the pubic discomfort has slightly returned, I took a natural anti inflammatory supplement with Quercetin and Bromelain and some other things in it and I think that may have caused the discomfort to return, why I think that ? because back when this first started in Thailand, I remember the doctor gave me anti inflammatory drugs and after I took then my discomfort increased.

I am taking a magnesium supplement, vitamin D3, and B12 complex

just in case anyone doesn't know, I had a bad bicycle fall whilst on holiday in Gran Canaria and have a scar on my left hip and low back, then some months later had sex and got this pelvic issue, I've been and got a MRI, neurologist said functional disorder, then went to get tested for less common stds and got the all clear and doctor said I have prostatits and tight pelvic floor muscles, saw chiropractor, got told I have a unstable pelvis, misaligned slightly, sacrum issue, pelvic floor disorder seems to be what I have.

Hi jack, have you had an MRI done?

Read the thread a bit further down from trs1470. His hips were causing prostatitis problems and he got them fixed and the symptoms went away. Maybe useful to you

yes got an MRI done on my low back, Neurologist had a look and told me he couldn't see any problems, it will be further examined by a radiologist and I have a appointment with the neurologist again later this month.

the Neuro diagnosed me with functional disorder but I'm not in agreement with that, he also told me to stay away from chiropractor's ....

I have decided to get a second opinion and will be booking an appointment with John Taberman-Pichler, a Osteopath/chiropractor, apparently a very good one, recommended by David88, luckily I live in the south east where he works and its just a 3 hour train journey for me.

its hard to know if the chiropractor I'm currently seeing is doing the right treatment for me, I've read on here from David88 and UKsufferer that I need to work on massage and trigger points and things, but chiropractors just move bone (spinal manipulation), I'm not receiving any muscle work from him, but at the same time he has managed to give me some relief, but it is temporary, I just don't want to risk wasting my time and money.

currently not feeling too bad at the moment, have minor symptoms, just a general discomfort, muscle tightness kind of feeling in my pelvis, urinary symptoms are not too bad at the moment too.

if I decide to start seeing John Taberman-Pichler, probably once a week, it will be very expensive, £60 for the train journeys and £60 for the treatment, thats £120 a week, but maybe I'll get cured quicker, I'm just a 25 year old kitchen porter, not rich or anything.

After reading David88's post about his story I've just realised that I will be dealing with this pelvic problem for most likely the next 2 to 3 years of my life, this is no quick fix, time to cancel any holiday plans for the next few years as treating this will be expensive ...

Osteopath and deep tissue massage looks to be what I need.... all expensive

its a good thing I have a job and live with the parents still...

I've learned that it truly is a cruel world..

my left foot has pain at the moment, around the toes area and top base, I think I've had it for maybe 1 or 2 weeks, its slightly swollen too, not sure whats happened, I don't think its the barefoot shoes as my right foot is fine, it could be related to my pelvic issues, I did take Cipro back in November last year for 5 days, I hope its not a side effect from that. I can still work fine, not in really bad pain all the time but its still a little worrying and annoying.

have booked a doctor's appointment on 6th March to get it checked.

Do you guys think that Cipro actually made stuff worse...the one most common factor for most/all of us that we took cipro at some point but got this disease/condition from different circumstances...just curious....I took it 4 weeks...

My prostate burn started after Cipro. Before that it was just burning urination.

Keep us updated Jack..

I think in most cases people are manifesting this blame of every ailment they have on <insert quinolone here>. A random foot ailment appearing 3 months later after a 5 day treatment of Cipro? No I don't think that has anything to do with abxs. The occurrences of tendinopathy for FQs is very low in normal healthy individuals. When I developed oral thrush as a result of my augmentin I started doing research on Candida and good lord, the BS that's out there online about Candida being responsible for everything from blurred vision to the rise of Hitler is ridiculous. While there's obviously a risk to taking them, hence the blackbox warning, you need to do some of your own research to see exactly how prevalent the irreversible side effects actually are. The unbiased statistics are there if you choose to do the legwork.

sorry my mistake I took the Cipro in late December, not November..

according to the NHS website, foot pain with swelling is probably a Sprain or Strain

I do remember landing awkwardly at the gym in January, I was on a pull up machine, sort of hopped off it and landed toe first on a hard surface, wearing the barefoot shoes which don't offer much foot protection due to their thinness, it was a painful landing but the pain went away and I didn't think much of it, that could be the cause of this pain.

its not been a bad week apart from the foot pain, my pubic discomfort has not been too bad, I get the odd minor flare up sometimes but its not too bad, my urine frequency has improved, still have a little bit of painful urination sometimes but not much, my pubic discomfort seems to feel worst when laying down.

got my full spine x rays sent to me by email, I wanted to post them on this thread but I don't know how.

last week my chiropractor told me there's been a 30% improvement with my unstable pubis, I'd agree, not sure if I need to get a second opinion from the great Osteopath David88 recommended, I'm seeing results with my more local chiro, so it seems unnecessary and possibly a waste of £120, its a tough one ...

ok so today I saw the Osteopath/Chiropractor John Taberman-Pichler that David88 recommended, it was only a 3 train journey to get to him

he's a nice friendly bloke, I told him my story and symptoms I have, or had/have experienced since this started, then he told me to lay on his work table and he tested my muscles, his muscle testing is how he figures out what problems you have, he found many problems with me.

he found issues and adjusted my skull, left ear, neck, collarbone, rib, upper back, sacrum, feet/ankle..

I've only just got home, I'm not cured, I didn't expect to be, I'll send him a message in a few days to let him know how I feel. I'll most likely see him again.

he said he thought I didn't have a pubis issue or unstable pelvis like my chiropractor thinks

found out something interesting, apparently the Adductor Muscles are attached to the pubic bone, if there is a issue the these muscles it can cause pubic pain, and I've always noticed since this happened that my adductor muscles are tight...and my main symptom is pubic discomfort/pain, just something for me to think about, I'll mention it to my Osteo

Post Re: My Diary - Pelvic discomfort/pain after sex/bike acciden
Just to clarify about what John Taberman-Pichler said to me about my pelvis and pubis

he said he couldn't find an issue with my pelvis, though he did not strip me down and look at it, he adjusted my sacrum just 1 time and told me he got it back in place, he said maybe my pelvis was unstable before but now its not as the sacrum is the base for the pelvis, he said he didn't think there was an issue with my pubis when he put pressure on my pubis area I was not in extreme pain, it was a little sore that's it, he also told me to push my legs up while he holds them, again no large amounts of pubis pain.

the funny thing is, I saw my chiropractor 5 times, he adjusted my sacrum each session, I see John just 1 time and he adjusts sacrum and apparently gets it back in place and stablilizes my pelvis... this is why I have trust issues with these chiro's/osteo's.

I have booked an appointment on Thursday with John again next week. I have started going back to the gym, doing calisthenics only, just body weight exercises like pull ups, dips, squats and core/abs exercises, no stretches, I still have a fear of doing them, as for diet I don't eat extremely healthy but try to eat decent and avoid junk food.

as for how I feel after my first appointment with john, my upper body feels looser, my tinnitus might be a little bit quieter, but still have pubic discomfort with little bit of pain sometimes, left side of my sacrum/low back aches a little bit, also I've noticed a lot that my right leg feels like its taking more weight when I walk, I didn't tell John about my shorter left leg. have some aching on right side of hip when walking sometimes, still have a left foot pain but swelling has gone down, still have a little bit of upper back pain on my left side.

again, this is NOT a quick fix

Saw the Osteopath John Taberman-Pichler in Buxted again, he hasn't been able to help or cure me, he said he normally only see's people twice, if there is no improvement after 2 appointments then there's not much else he can do, so I think its time to end it with him

I'm a little bit confused, my first appointment he said it wasn't my pubis, then when I saw him again, he found a issue and adjusted my pubic bone.. I'll always have trust issues with these kinds of people, he told me to see his Osteopath friend close to where I live but I think I'll go back to the chiropractor I was seeing before, my other issue is my job, I get my pelvic or low back adjustments then the next day I'm doing heavy lifting and bending and the adjustments don't hold.

John said I didn't have a unstable pelvis, but 2 chiropractors and 1 local osteopath said I did have a unstable pelvis ...who to believe..

John Taberman-Pichler said he was aware of this forum and the guy he cured from prostatitis was simply blind luck

honestly I don't have much hope now, my pubic area feels bad and I'm urinating a lot, I feel low, I think about ending my life everyday, some people just have bad luck in life and I'm one of them. I'm not mentally strong enough to live with this issue for years like some guys do.

I'll most likely go on a 3 month vacation in the summer and end it all abroad in a nice warm country.
